The X-Bat9TM &
X-Bat18TM
external battery systems eliminate the need for internal
batteries required to power active pickups and electronics including
models from EMG®, Seymour Duncan®, Bartolini® and others.
With the X-BatTM system, the 9-Volt battery
(X-Bat9TM) or batteries (X-Bat18TM)
are located in the battery pack (shown above). The pickups
and electronics in the instrument are powered using a
stereo (2 wire plus shield) instrument cable to connect to
the pack. It's like having a 9-Volt or 18 Volt "phantom
power" supply for your active instrument! Ideal for Strats®,
Teles®, Jazz Bass®, P-Bass® and other guitars and basses that
require routing for batteries or require pickguard
removal or other disassembly to change the batteries. Also
great for mandolins, bouzoukis, violins and other
instruments that are difficult to mount batteries
internally. |

Simple Plug & Play
Use
The X-BatTM
Systems are also incredibly easy to use and
require no rewiring or
soldering of existing active electronics. Simply snap
the included J-BatTM battery jumper in place of the existing
internal 9-volt batteries and connect the instrument to the
X-Bat9TM or X-Bat18TM pack with the
included KordexTM stereo cable (or any other high grade stereo
instrument cable). Then plug the mono output cable into the amp or effects unit input and play-that’s
all! |

Low Voltage Indicator
–
The X-Bat9TM and X-Bat18TM systems have
the LoBatTM battery monitoring circuit built in.
This circuit notifies the player with an LED indicator that voltage is
below 7.7V (X-Bat9TM) or below 15.4V (X-Bat18TM)
before any noticeable loss of
audio quality! The quick accessbattery compartment reduces
battery replacement to seconds-even between songs! Ultra low
current LED allows the instrument to be played for an
extended period (usually a few days) if a new battery is not
immediately available. |

Comprehensive Circuit
Protection with Fault Indicator
- The
X-Bat9TM and X-Bat18TM systems
also have integrated fault detection/protection circuitry.
This circuit
automatically protects against excessive current draw in the
event there is a problem with the instrument or cable that
could short circuit the batteries. If a problem is detected, the
fault LED will light indicating the protection circuit has
been activated. When the problem is corrected, the fault
indicator will go out and the circuit instantly resets and is
ready for use. |
