Are light strings good for rock guitar?
I like to do bends, slides, vibratos, etc.
Are heavy strings good for acoustic guitar?
That is what I use as well. Easier for bend, slurs, pull-off etc.... Its not always good to play on them because your fingers get lazy and they lose strength. Its always good to have an acoustic guitar to practice on to keep the grip strong and build finger muscles for endurance.
Just a hint
)
As for heavier gauge, they limit the bends, hammer-ons and pull-offs. The reponse is not as great and you really need super strong finger to start playing sweeps and finger-tapping. But it builds strength in the hand, wrist, fingers.
