What kind of batteries does this acoustic/electric guitar use?

I have a Yamaha APX500 guitar and it has a built in tuner. It takes a battery or batteries. I thought it was AA but they didn't fit. If anyone who has this guitar could tell me, I'd be so grateful! Thanks!
