What is the best glue to use to glue a nut to the neck of an electric guitar?

My son has broken the nut off the neck of his Jackson Kelly electric guitar (it doesn't have a tremlo arm) and I want to know the best glue or other adhesive to use to stick the replacement back on.

scrap the old glue out first then just use regular old white elmers glue, just a couple of small drops on the bottom of the nut, don't over do it, restring the guitar and the strings will clamp it till it dries.
