Seymour Duncan Hot Rails Question?
Im looking to buy an electric guitar soon no more than about 700$s. Due to my musical tastes this pretty much narrows it down to an epiphone les paul or a Fender. I've always leaned towards Fender but I hate, hate, hate, the sound of them. Stats automcatically sound like Hendrix, SRV, Clapton, bullshit. (No offense to those guys just dont like the sound) And teles are too country for me. Anywhoo.....
I was thinking of getting an esquire or telecaster and putting in seymour duncan hot rails. I was wondering just how hot these pickups sound and if it totaly loses that twang that there known for. Im hoping they do and they sound more like a les paul or a p-90 sound. Anyways, tell me about your experiences with them. Thanks, peace
Hot Rails don't sound exactly like a humbucker, but it's hotter and thicker than a single coil. Go to SD's website, and check out the samples of each pickup. That's all I can tell you. Guitar tone is completely subjective.
