Sparky3489: "center" channel/potentiometer?

Hiya!

I made a pseudo-center channel speaker in my truck, after deciding not to wire my amp funny and accidentally letting the smoke out of it. The "center" speaker unit consists of two high-range tweeters and mid-high range speakers (i don't have freq specs). The audio quality is excellent, however, the center is over powering the right and left fronts.

i was hoping that you could tell me if it would be possible to add a component to control the volume of the "center"? What i want to do is use one pot to control both speakers....

what i have done is basically stretched two speakers (RF and LF) so that the tweeters from right and left are in the middle of the dash. see here: http://sore4x4.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1112

The problem is by wiring this set of speakers in the middle, you have now changed the impedance rating of the amp which has altered the output.

The other problem is finding a potentiometer to handle the power or to devise an electronic volume control and still allow for a balanced system.

The best advise I can give is to get a small amp just for this 'center' speaker array. This will allow you to have a more balanced system.
