Pickguard Cream

What kind of Les Paul do I have?

I want to know if it's a custom, standard, studio, ????. It's and Epiphone, limited edition, quilted maple, transparent black, no pickguard, trapezoid mother of pearl inlays, cream binding, On the truss rod cover, it just says "Gibson".

I can't find this guitar anywhere in catalogs or online anywhere. I just wanna know which one it is. Any help is appreciated.
The serial # is U99070361

It sounds to me as though you have a LP "Standard, or Classic".

The actual Gibson Pauls, have "Standard, Classic, Deluxe, Custom, etc" on the truss rod covers.

However, most Epi's just have a cover that says "Gibson", which really makes no sense to me, since it's not a true Gibson...it is an Epi, made to Gibson's specifications.

It's the cream binding and trapezoid position markers that give it the features of a "Standard"....however, the quilt top and transparent black finish makes me believe you have a "Les Paul Classic".

The "Standard" and the "Classic" are basically the same bodies, with different hardware.

The "Custom" will have rectangle position markers and binding on the front and back of the body.

The "Studio" will have dot position markers and no binding on the body.

Without actually seeing your guitar, this is about the best info that I can give you.

FOLLOW UP... The guitar serial number does not always indicate the actual "model" of the guitar. It mostly indicates the date and location of production.

The model is based upon the type of hardware that is used to finish the guitar.

Even with Fender, the serials of Strats and Tele's are similar...even though they are two completely different models of guitars.

Based on the serial number that you provided, here is the info that I was able to find.

Note...that the Epiphone Guitar is made by the "Un Sung Musical Instrument Company"...not made by Gibson, as the marketing geniuses would like us to believe. This again raises my question, why do they even bother putting the name Gibson on the truss rod covers?
