Neff Electric Hobs

Neff electric hobs are available as a ceramic or induction hob and come with a choice of finishes. The options are stainless steel- known for its ease of cleaning-, black trim, brown trim, white trim or frameless. Many of Neff’s kitchen appliances are available as frameless appliances, which mean that they can be easily selected to match each other for a coordinated kitchen. Another benefit of a frameless model is that they often come with a facetted front edge, which provides an even easier option to keep clean.

Like most of Neff’s kitchen appliances, the Neff electric hobs are available in six series, with the first being the most basic and the sixth being more of a premium range hob. One of the benefits of an electric hob compared to a gas hob is how easy they are to clean. This is probably one of the main attractions to an electric hob for most people as it saves time on cleaning and maintenance as it can just be wiped clean.

Electric hobs are well known as being easier to clean than gas hobs, but within that category are ceramic and induction hobs- and induction hobs are even easier to clean than ceramic. This is because the areas around the circular induction zones stay cool even during cooking, which means that if food spills or boils over, it will not get burnt on to the surface leaving a horrible dried and burnt on mess. This makes induction hobs easy to maintain and keep clean.

One thing to be aware of though if you like the sound of an induction hob from the Neff electric hob range is that induction hobs only work with ferrous metal pans. This is because they work by using electro magnets under the coiled cooking zones and only ferrous metal pans can be used to complete the electric circuit. So consider the fact that you may need to invest in new pans if you go for an induction hob- although it may be a worthwhile investment for the extra efficiency and easy maintenance that an induction hob provides.

If an induction hob is not for you, but you still fancy a Neff electric hob, the ceramic hobs are still pretty good and still easier to clean than a gas hob because of their smooth, flat, easy access surface. Some of the Neff electric hob models also feature "Point & Twist control". This makes it easier to wipe clean because the magnetic control knob is removable, which means that the hob is kept neat and uncluttered. “Point and Twist control” is sensitive and easy to use and is available on a number of Neff’s electric hobs in both the ceramic and induction options.

Despite the benefits of an electric hob, many people still prefer the controllability of a gas hob. Not just that, but you tend to prefer what you are used to. But an electric hob can be almost as controllable, but does not tend to have that traditional look and fits in better with a modern kitchen than an old fashioned, classic kitchen. If you do decide to go for a Neff electric hob, the one that has all the features, but is obviously the most expensive is the Series 6 Ceramic hob T1643, which also features Piezo control.
