What's your type of timpani?

There are actually 3 kinds of timpanis you can choose from and they include the chain timpani, machine timpani, and the pedal timpani.

The pedal timpani is 26 to 29 inches in diameter and it is commonly used because its mechanism involves a built-in pedal that can adjust the head tension when you connect the pedal to the tension screws using metal rods. Its pedal mechanism includes friction clutch or post and clutch, balanced action, and the ratchet-clutch system.

The machine timpani is another type with mechanical systems for changing the head tension. Usually, it is made with a fiberglass kettle with a parabolic shape and for balance, it has metal legs with a tuning gauge. On the other hand, the tension rod of the chain timpani has a roller chain connected to it. It has a single handle for adjusting the rod's tension based on your preference. Commonly used for professional performances, the chain timpani provides high and low notes.

Choosing your timpani

If you're buying a timpani, check for the stick and the head. For waterproof features, your timpani's head should be made of PET film or durable plastic. However, for warmer or richer timbres, pick a head made of real animal skin like those from a calf. Investing in different stick types like wood, aluminum, and graphite is also ideal to achieve different timbre

do they make guitar effects pedals with reverb, delay, flanger, and chorus settings all in one pedal? ?

if possible, provide a link. i know they make pedals that have one that you can link together in chains, but i just want one pedal with all these options that i can switch between

there's loads of them, lots of choice. digitech and boss make the most well known ones. just look for multi-fx. Bare in mind though that while you get them all in one neat package, they don't sound as good as individual pedals and you don't get as much flexability
