Get A Guitar Practice Amp - Small In Size But Not In Sound

After you buy a guitar, particularly an electric guitar, the very next thing that you probably need to do is buy a guitar amp. The problem with lots guitar amps though is that they are huge, pricey and tricky to tote around. But there's an alternative - a guitar practice amp.

These amps are sometimes referred to as called mini amps because of their small size, but do not let their diminutive proportions put you off. Is there a way to put guitar effects after the guitar amps preamp if you dont have an effects loop on your amp?

Sorry not just the preamp, but power amp also

If your amp doesn't have an effects loop (or PRE out/Power Amp IN) jacks, then there is a way to work around this.

You didn't say what kind of effects you wanted to use, but I'm going to assume that it's some kind of time-based effect (delay, reverb, flanger, etc).

You could use a distortion/overdrive pedal in front of your time-based effects pedal, and then go to the amp. The trick is to run the amp very clean, and use the first pedal to get your overdrive sounds. So, your setup would look like:

Distortion/Overdrive ---> Delay/Reverb ---> Amp
