Guitar MaxTM
is the worlds first programmable
pickup switching system designed to unlock all of the tonal
possibilities that can be obtained by combining the coils of
humbuckers and single coil
pickups in any combination of series or parallel in or out of
phase. All of this is done with micro-mechanical relays that
provide a passive, noise free signal path equivalent to using
typical mini toggle switches. This means the sound of the
guitar and pickups remains 100% passive and pure! No phony
digital simulation or synthesis, just the natural tones you
want in the order you want. Works with any single coils or
four conductor humbuckers including models from Seymour
Duncan® Bartolini®, DiMarzio®, Fender®, Gibson® and
others. The Guitar MaxTM
Matrix provides:
|
|
|
|
*
Over 30 possible pickup combinations with three single
coils or one humbucker and one single coil. (V1.xx) |
|
* Over 150 possible pickup combinations with two humbuckers or
one humbucker and two single coils (V1.xx) |
|
* Over
1000 pickup combinations with two humbuckers
and one single coil (V2.xx) |
|
* Over
1000 pickup combinations with three humbuckers (V3.xx) |

How it works
- A micro
computer is programmed with the desired pickup settings (neck
series in phase, bridge parallel-reverse phase, etc.). Then
the position of the existing pickup selector switch and
optional bank selector are sensed by the computer to determine
which preset the user wants to access. When the switch is
moved to a new setting, the computer activates the required
relays to obtain the users pre-programmed sound. The result is
instant access to any pickup combination without any custom
wiring.

Endless Tonal Capability
- The Guitar MaxTM
system can arrange the pickup coils in any combination of
series or parallel, in or out of phase. This feature expands
the tonal capability of the instrument in
ways never before
possible. For example: the user can select series-in phase for
the neck humbucker, parallel in phase for the bridge humbucker
and then combine both humbuckers in series/reverse phase. With
two single coils and a humbucker, the user can select: Neck +
Middle single coil series/reverse phase and then combine them
both with the bridge humbucker South coil parallel in phase
etc. |

Incredible Functional
Versatility
- The Guitar MaxTM
is simple to operate because intelligent software allows the
existing pickup selector to be used to select any pickup
combination in any order. Just set the pickup selector to
the desired position, program the desired pickup combination
for that position and save-That’s All! An optional
Bank Selector switch (3-way or 5-way) and/or Up/Down switch
can be added to access additional presets or groups of
presets (up to 100 total). |

Feature Packed User
Interface/LCD Display
- The
Guitar MaxTM systems LCD display makes
programming new pickup combinations fast and simple. The
intelligent software provides logical options that allow the
user to quickly edit and create presets without in-depth
knowledge of guitar wiring. For example, series/parallel and
phase options are only displayed if more than one coil or
combination of coils is selected. The LCD display also can
be used to view the current pickup combination, switch
position, bank selector position and preset number.
remaining battery voltage, calculated current draw and other
information.
Stealth
version also available with no LCD display for a truly
"hidden" installation.

Programmable Control of
Tone Pot & Other Electronics
- The Guitar MaxTM
system also has programmable auxiliary switches that can be
activated or deactivated as part of a preset. This allows
Guitar MaxTM to set the existing tone control to
one of three modes: Standard Mode (pot controlled by user),
No-Load Mode (tone pot disconnected) or Dark Mode (full bass
). The auxiliary switches can also be used to control
optional onboard electronics as part of a preset. This
allows Guitar MaxTM to change gain levels on
preamps or activate and deactivate other pickups like piezo
acoustic bridges and MIDI pickups as part of a preset. |
