Guitarists: an expression pedal Electro Harmonix Deluxe Memory Boy?

I'll buy an EHX Deluxe Memory and children want a expression pedal to maximize the benefit of DMB functionality. The instructions of the DMB, EHX pedal is a boss recommended FV-500L. After reading several other forums, others suggest that the FV-500H (high impedance Impedance vs low). To compound the confusion, after EHX have contacted suggest that any pedal with a TRS sleeve. Has anyone tried one of these with DMB? I want a volume / expression and not not just an expression, but I'm open to suggestions pedal anyone can be successfully used in the DMB. Thank you for your time! In addition, I have a guitar with passive pickups, but they have not decided if I'm going to use before or after other effects pedals.
