Which pedal to get for my electric guitar???

Ok, I just bought a new electric guitar kit with amp picks etc. Now i want to buy a distortion p4edla to i can play propa, which one should i get, is there a certain typ? A basic one will do, just for overdive distortion

for starters get a digitech, grunge or metal pedal, or a boss ds1 thats the one kurt cobain used there pretty cheap and work good, if your really good get a boss gt-8 they are the shiznit
