Celluloid Black

Interview with Eva Goodlife
GL: First of all I have to say you look very nice. Tell us about this new look?
EVA: (laughs) Well, thank you for the compliment. What I can say? It's new ... a lot of things happened that brought this on. First, I was going through a phase and only needed a change of some sort to remind myself he was still alive and relevant, second, was about to throw my second video-MI SELVA and I needed a bad ass I make this point because music career seriously, if I have to shave my head and eyebrows to enhance the beauty of a song, I will. I mean, that's what pay us to do the right thing? Anyway, I went to my dear Fairy Godmother "as I used to call her Aunt Ireti Doyle and Bobby took me to (the barber) and vuala ...
GL: Yes ... I think we've seen the transformation of everything on television, how would you feel?
Eva: To tell the truth? A little embarrassed. The set of Lagos saw my ugly face when Bobby was cutting me (laughs)
GL: It looks good on you though
EVA: thanks bunch
GL: The man must have been very happy to see that the new law?
EVA: Next question please (smiles)
GL: (laughs) Well ... will come back to that. So tell us about the album ...
Eva: The album is called gray and it is a buffet track 15. This means that everything you can eat. are there different types of genre from techno to Soul, R & B Rock to Hip Hop, but every genre has a touch of soul in it. That is the genre that is very prevalent on the album.
GL: I've often wondered, why artists do not just stick to one genre. Why particularly wide branch it is clear that some of them not enough?
EVA: Well, I can not speak for them, but I can speak for myself. Sometimes I have many ideas in my head and I just want to put it out there, who knows, you may be surprised at the feedback. I also hear and see a lot of music channels, etc ... my head is filled to the brim with different kinds of sounds and it would be nice to be seen as an artist who is quite versatile. I really hate the status quo and labels the integration of artists and really really hate to be compared to any other person
GL: Some people would say to you is a proud person.
Eva: I am a person of pride, but I'm not a proud person. I am proud of the gifts and talents God has given me and am proud of the people in my life ... I am proud I do ... so ... if that makes me proud ... I really do not know what to say to
GL: Let's get back to the shades of gray album ... what was the inspiration for that title?
Eva: The kind of musician I am is one of inspiration. I love to inspire people in the next best thing in life in the next higher level of thinking ... to love ... to believe ... of life. I mean ... I am a victim of frustration, betrayal, failure, a broken heart theft, car accidents ... what you want and I have not managed to rise above it because I'm better than people who can not find a way out of darkness into light, but because there was a truth for my life, people rely on family and prayed for me ... I came to understand that life is not always black and white, its not always good or bad ... there are some gray areas here and there that we can not understand, gray areas that make us break the night and mourn, gray areas that make us doubt ourselves themselves and the world we live in is one of those things that speak on the album. The album also shows parts of me and some of those gray areas that have happened in my life, if you know what I mean, one time when I'm soft and cuddly all like a teddy bear and the next, I'm aggressive and take life by the horns, the next morning I hit mourn love and so on ... the title is also a kind of pun, because if you think about it, I'm being run by a company called GRAY TIGER ENTERTAINMENT LIMITED and that's like telling people, the EVA is one of the many nuances of this business.
GL: Tell us a little about yourself
EVA: Hmm ... After the election campaign (laughs) after the koko I ask that you do not forget to pick up my credentials ... interview is over ... I do not disturb (makes joke to leave)
GL: Do not bother my sister ... Do Not Disturb
Eva: My name is ... Evaezi I was born in July 13 198 ... no business yours. (Laughter) I am a native of Delta State, I Isoko to be precise. My father is a fantastic engineer, his name is Engineer. Ogoro Chris and my mother is ... well ... was a public official. He retired a few weeks ago. I am the fourth of five children.
GL: Did you say Ogoro? Are you by chance related to Ogoro Kingsley, the producer of the film?
EVA: Yes I am, my paternal uncle.
GL: If I remember correctly, had released a song on his label right last year?
EVA: Well ... was about 2 years ago. The song was titled "Do not Cry."
GL: So what happened?
GL: Are you are no longer on the label?
Eva: I never signed a contract to his label ... It was just a training ground for me and I am deeply grateful for the lessons he learned from Dr. tail Munis, Sammie Okposo, Nkiru Njoku and the rest of the crew Kingsley Ogoro Productions. When the time came, we both realized we had to go out and make my own name. I did not want to ride a horse under his belt, I wanted one of my own ... you knows. So this little bird had to grow their own wings and learn to fly.
GL: And how has it been so far?
Eva, very busy ... but definitely worth it. When you go through things that go on to develop a sense of self-esteem. You look around you and be proud of what you have achieved, as took that leap. You see ... Some people do not know what we went through to be seen and heard. Why do you think people like RMD, D'Banj, Ogoro Kingsley, and Funke Akindele rest of them are held today? I love my parents for one thing, he was behind, beside and in front of me. I prayed through the initial phase and then try my manager, Atago gray ... I really do not know what I would have done without him ... as well as my other friends who helped and encouraged me to this point. Please do not worry for me ... I'm practicing for my speech at the Grammys in the near future. (Laughter)
GL: What are your fears about this album?
Eva: No fear ... I got here .... 2 years without beans bi o. .. haba! No fear ... I am here not for the commercial operation of the same ... this is my manager work (laughs) I'm here to give hope to the people and that can never be lost or broken by any fear or insecurity I or people in general may have. There's a message in me for everyone who has been in my shoes, they have loved, lost, frustrated or which give about yourself or any situation where they are and ... do not leave me make lessons for you. I think you get the general idea (laughs).
GL: Yes! Speaking about love and loss ... Tell us ... you are a very pretty lady, what does your man do you think is in this industry? Is there ay insecurities on your part? Sure you are aware that there are only a few women that can boast of their morals and integrity ... Not the fear that will not fill with the rest and one day, his story could be splashed across the tabloids?
Eva: First, I hate labels. Secondly ... Mama did not raise no fool ... that does not mean that other women are stupid, but ... unless want to be accused of stealing meat in the pot, not close to the kitchen. Thirdly, I have people who watch my back and keep me in check, my manager is like an elder brother to me ... scolds him about ... especially well (laughs) and my mother is a woman who prays so ... I can not escape the eyes of the Lord, if you know what I mean, fourth ... people should speak. You could be on his own and was still spoken.
GL: You have not told us what you think your boyfriend.
Eva: O boy ... forget that one ... abi you wan toast me? Why is the press so excited about love and sex? na wa. You've been watching too many "Second Chance" episodes
GL: You sound like a gospel artist ... Right?
EVA: I hate labels. I would not say that I am a gospel artist, but I have gospel influences in everything I do. I am the church of race ... thanks mama (blows kisses). I think a lot of answers for what we see around us lies in the inside of us ... all of us. It's like connect the dots ... all do the bigger picture, not just you and not just I. That's why I'm doing my part to help my neighbor ... the younger generation deserves better than this ... Do not you think? We deserve better than this.
GL: Besides singing, what else can you do?
Eva: My dear I do a lot o. Through WAN SEF talent dey worry me. I am the editor of a magazine called celluloid soft sell is new, I am a sound engineer training, I mixed and mastered some tracks on my album. I teach ... I love teaching ... um ... I'm at events and decorations. Also I am a writer, editor, I am in productions ... I have a number of Jingles in the past, some of which are still heard today ... I am gradually deepening in the movies.
GL: WOW! Does your uncle have nothing to do with it?
Eva: No ... This is to me. I love movies. When I was in school ... UNILAG, I helped a friend of mine who studied Theatre Arts at the 300 level to direct a play. I wrote and directed the play and scored very high for it ... for outbreak was always in me.
GL: What did you study in UNILAG?
EVA: English (Arts)
GL: How is the video MY JUNGLE
Eva: Well, Atago (My boss) and I were thinking of concepts for the video. We were really wild and crazy ideas and we were thinking about the best person to call - Clarence Peters, Dj TEE and the like and just walked ... "What is this song really talking about? You're talking about the life we live in industry the music ... at first seems glamorous but it is really hard work and not as glame as today's music videos will have you believe ... so we decided to do ourselves. I was the parts manager and co-director, while he was the director, and one of the men of the camera. It was just a simple thing in the house ... era basically a "Hey ... this is real life in the music industry, behind all the effects of bling bling, that's all! here ... nothing long!" He was also very appropriate, particularly because the concept of the song was his idea. I just put the words (laughs).
GL: Do you have a favorite in the tracks the album?
EVA: How bad can it be? can not ask a woman to choose between their children? you should be hung
GL: Any plan to launch the album?
Eva: Well ... I am not the release of the album a little gal ... but we are planning to a performance command where people will get to see crazy and artistic side of Eve. I have planned to redefine performance on the stage Nigeria, with this action commands, so ... Keep up to date. It will be an explosion.
GL: Any collaborations?
EVA: Only a few. I think an artist's first album, he or she should take the time to find your own ... his own voice. It allows people to become familiar with their sound. It's the best. I was only Konga, Shogon (one of my producers), Benny P and Kani in this album.
GL: What about producers?
EVA: Well, I worked with TIMSONIC, JOKAYNIE, Adesanya WOLE, INI D 'Minstrel and DARE. I also had the opportunity to work with my dear friend, mentor ad in engineering, Bolaji ONISIWO, Kayode, Tunji ALAYO Kani and fellow musician.
GL: Who are you looking forward to working with its subsequent albums?
EVA: Hmm ... Nyanya of Fame project ... I really think that boy has talent, he has that fire to take the music to the next level ... I have not seen in awhile. He also has a winning spirit ... more ... is kinda cute (laughs), MI and Jesse Jaguars finally ... MI has nice flow and I love the tone of his voice ... I think it is sexy in its way, Jesse has Jaguares amazing flow and charming melodies. Um ... those are the people I can think of now ... the rest of your flash (smiles).
GL: A final thing ... What should we expect from you in the near future?
Eva: I hope to make Nigeria proud and be a source of inspiration to people around the world. That is final.
GL: Thank you
Eva: No ... thanks GoodLife.com.ng

Robin Hood TV series? (Cartoons)?
Ok this is for my cousin who keeps bothering me, why not to air? Robin Hood is one of the views of Disney movies that would make a good TV series. Unfortunately, the chances for this to happen are virtually zero, as the celluloid film, is considered persona non grata in the rule nowadays Mickey. (The only animated film the most despised of others around Disney's The Black Cauldron). Ok, found a Web site and want to know what the film is regarded as persona non grata? IS a true fan of this show.
I loved the movie Robin Hood Disney! I must admit it is different from other films Disney (and I understand the Black Cauldron was ok ... .. but not something I) but it is quite impressive. My sister and I have seen a lot of when we were kids. Prince John was amazing, I loved how he sucked his finger and how Sir Hiss, hypnotize people be. Why a show full time? I think that the franchise Robin Hood is more saturated it is. Rocket Robin Hood, Robin Hood and Marian Young Happy Man Maid perhaps time was not right. Maybe he did well enough to be able to create a series in practice. In fact, now that you say Not that there have been many television. The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, 101 Dalmatians, The Lion King, Hercules, Leo and Stitch ... etc. In fact, many of them based in entertainment programs for television several years later. Who knows? Give him another 7 years (which is the frequency with which the right to reissue?) See what happens.
